Time for travel
I’m going to go home for Christmas for about 10-11 days, depending on whether you count the days spent traveling as home or not!
There are no direct flights, so I spend anywhere between 8 to 14 hours traveling (excluding the train to the airport, and the two to three hours extra-early I have to check in due to the stringent security measures in Israel.)
I think it’s crazy to have to spend so much time traveling to someplace that is in the same time zone as Israel. I suppose it’s not the longitude that matters this time, it’s the latitude. Southern Finland seems to be about 30 degrees north of Israel.
I have a feeling that -3 to -5 C is going to be a shock for my system. I’ve gotten used to the “cold” winter here in Israel, which dips down to a shocking +13 C. <insert cries of “zomg” here>
Is there a country out there that has the Finnish summer and the Israeli winter?
I am looking forward to a (possibly) snowy Christmas however. A green Christmas with 20 C doesn’t feel quite right.
