Three-legged kitty!

The cat we’ve been taking care of is now limping in a very pronounced way. He still manages to make it up three flights of stairs, but walks on three legs and is very careful where he places the fourth paw.
Today, Eyal bought him a kitty-litter box and a cat-carrier box. I was convinced the cat would instantly understand the concept of the litter box, and it was with high hopes we watched him scratching in the box and sniffing it. Finally, found a corner, scratched, squatted …. and lay down. LAY DOWN? I didn’t have time to be disappointed for long, because soon he stood up again and tested it for another purpose. Hooray!

Gah. I suppose this is something close to what parents feel when they succeed at potty training.

Tomorrow he’s being carried off to the vet, and I expect he’ll stop considering the carrier-box as his favorite new resting place.
