Peering into the micro world

I cringe as I use the cliché, but these images really ARE larger than life. This website features some amazing electron microscope images of tiny tiny details of lifeforms. Have you ever wanted to see eye to eye with an ant or a moth so fluffy it looks feathered? You can even see the little hairs on its probiscus!

There are also beautifully detailed and utterly unreal images of jagged pollen and leaves from up so close you can see the cells that make it up.

Or why not “the anterior spiracles (respiratory openings) of a fruit fly larvae magnified 1500x”. They look like magically glowing mushrooms or jellyfish. Take a peek - you won’t regret it, unless you happen to have a phobia of all the unseen life around us.
